It should be eaten chilled and can be prepared in many different ways:

  • simply and traditionally (wholewheat bread, lemon, flower of salt, etc.)
  • inventive: brioche-like bread served with pickle or chutney
  • seriously modern: on gingerbread and accompanied by dried meat, black chocolate, vegetable crisps, etc.)
